An investigation into Brass Against frontwoman Sophia Urista is mounting in the wake of her on-stage urination incident during the band’s set at the Welcome To Rockville festival in Daytona Beach, Florida.

According to The Daytona Beach News-Journal, it was revealed that the Daytona Beach Police Department received a tip via Facebook about the incident, which led to a woman filing a police report at the department’s suggestion.

The incident happened during Brass Against’s set on November 11. According to video footage, Urista revealed on stage that she needed to use the restroom and, not being able to leave the stage, decided that she would invite someone up on stage and pee on their face. Said Urista in the video, “I gotta pee, and I can’t make it to the bathroom. So we might as well make a show out of it.”

Urista could face an indecent exposure charge for the incident. According to The Daytona Beach News-Journal, Florida statute 800.03 states that it is unlawful to “expose his or her sexual organs in public or on the private premises of another, or so near thereto as to be seen from such private premises, in a vulgar or indecent manner.” Urista could face a one year jail sentence or a $1000 fine if found guilty.

Brass Against made a statement the next day via Twitter, telling fans,

“We had a great time last night at Welcome to Rockville. Sophia got carried away. That’s not something the rest of us expected, and it’s not something you’ll see again at our shows. Thanks for bringing it last night, Daytona.”

The band also revealed, in reply to a fan’s comment, that Urista cleaned up the mess on the stage herself.

Brass Against are set to open for Tool on their European tour in 2022.
