Guitarist Mitch Harris took a break from Napalm Death back in November to tend to family matters. The band stressed the move wasn’t permanent, but that didn’t stop the internet rumor machine.
Mark “Barney” Greenway, vocalist for Napalm Death, explained the matter to Decibel Magazine:
“People think Mitch is terminally ill and he isn’t. Or they think he has left the band for shady reasons and he hasn’t. You have to cut people some slack. We did that for Shane [Embury, bass] when he had some problems.”
Harris has been replaced by John Cooke from Corrupt Moral Altar, who will be joining the band on the upcoming Through Space and Grind Tour. That tour starts on January 27th, and will be co-headlined by Voivod, with support from Exhumed, Iron Reagan, and Black Crown Initiate.
