Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor has said in an interview that he has nearly finished tracking vocals for the new Slipknot record. Word came during an online interview with Galaxycon about the status of the album’s vocals. Taylor had to cancel an appearance at Galaxycon because he had contracted Covid 19. Taylor says he believes he was infected by a selfish person at one of his shows.

He is currently recovering and had this to say,

“I was actually supposed to finish my vocals this week. I got screwed, man. I actually only have really three songs left to do. I’ve done all the other tracks because I’ve been doing ’em in between tours, just fucking hitting it.”

And speaking about the new record, he said,

“I actually like this one better than the last one. I loved the last one. It’s really good. There’s some darker, heavier shit on it. There’s some tunes that are actually really outside the realm of what we’ve done before. But it all fucking coheses together — it all works together. And there’s some fucking savage heavy shit, which I’m really stoked on. So it’s gonna be rad.”

Taylor also discussed Slipknot filling in for other bands that are dropping off of shows.
