Despite System of a Down’s hiatus from releasing a new album since 2005’s Hypnotize/Mezmerize, members of the group haven’t stopped creating new tunes. While people spent this past holiday weekend with their family and friends, others decided to take advantage of the extra day by catching up with work, and it looks like Serj Tankian was one of them. The SOAD singer shared a photo of himself “mixing coffee” as well as “mixing some rock songs for a future release.”
Before anyone gets their hopes up, it is safe to assume these fresh tunes will not go on a new SOAD album as members have already explained about their 13+ year delay. However, these songs could be part of a solo EP or another motion picture soundtrack.
Tankian shared the following:
“A weekend of mixing. Mixing coffee to finalize the perfect blend for @kavatcoffee espresso blend and mixing some rock songs for a future release. #mixingcoffeeandmusic”
