periphery

You’re probably wondering if this is an April Fools’ joke, and normally you might be right given Periphery’s sense of humor. But that doesn’t appear to be the case this time; the band has released an instrumental demo of a new track dubbed “Borthelcash” presumably from their forthcoming album. The song was posted to the band’s Facebook with the following message:

Hey guys, so this is the new Periphery song that we have all been working on the past few days.
It’s an epic one and it’s going to essentially be the “Racecar” of the next album! We were so excited when we were recording it that we figured we could post the instrumental version to share with you in the time being so you can get a sense of the vibe of the next record. Lots of different moods in this song, but overall it has the epic feel that our next album will have!
Hope you enjoy!

Come to think of it, Periphery’s version of an April Fools’ joke might be confusing everyone with a song that turned out to be serious. Anyways, regardless of whether “Bortheclash” turns out to be part of the new album or not, the demo is a solid listen.
