“Lords of Summer” (First Pass Version) by Metallica is now available to purchase on iTunes, and although it has not been determined whether or not it will be on their upcoming album, Lars Ulrich said in an interview with Rolling Stone “Lords of Summer” is “fairly representative” of the new material being written for the album. Originally debuted at a concert in Bogota, Columbia in March, Lords of Summer was then released as live and demo versions on their official YouTube page MetallicaTV. The band has been playing it on every night of their “Metallica by Request” shows this spring and summer. If you’ve already heard the demo version, this doesn’t differ that much from it, but any Metallica completist (or the 2,500 people that bought the Black Album this week) will probably want to pick up the first official new Metallica song in a while.

The song can be purchased on iTunes here and the official live video of the song from Bogota can be viewed below.
