Megadeth have shared “Puppet Parade,” the final single from their upcoming self-titled album, which arrives this Friday (23). The record marks the band’s final studio release and is issued via Dave Mustaine’s Tradecraft imprint in partnership with Frontiers Label Group’s BLKIIBLK label. Megadeth are preparing to launch their farewell touring cycle. The band will kick off a North American run supporting Iron Maiden as well as a headlining Canadian tour beginning February 15 in Victoria, BC.
Mustaine comments:
“‘Puppet Parade’ is about somebody’s mundane life and how they go through life with everyday being the same as the day before. It is about a person who has a dead-end job, a dead-end relationship, a dead-end life. Many of us are going through this monotony, even right now. I wanted to share ‘Puppet Parade’ to try and illustrate how we often show people what we want them to see, instead of how we really feel.”
The week also brought a hometown honor, as the city of La Vergne, Tennessee officially declared January 17 “Megadeth Day.” WKRN reports, the proclamation coincided with the band’s special live listening event, dubbed Let There Be Shred, celebrating their recent single of the same name. Mustaine, who relocated to Tennessee over a decade ago, accepted the recognition ahead of the album’s release.
