Grandfather band photoBrooklyn based alternative rock quartet Grandfather will be releasing their second full length album In Human Form on August 13. But today, Metal Insider is premiering the title track from the album, which was produced by none other than former Fudge Tunnel frontman Alex Newport (The Mars Volta, The Melvins).

Their unique sound is difficult to classify or compare to other bands, but their dark approach to alternative rock finds some similarities with early Tool or Cave-In. “In Human Form” is one of the slower and more introspective tracks on the album. However, it does not compromise on their huge sound, which uses strictly instrumentation and effects pedals with no digital manipulation to create vast soundscapes that can be reliably reproduced in a live setting.

Check out “In Human Form” below, and hear more music from the band and the album on their website. And if you’re in the New York area on August 17, catch Grandfather perform at the In Human Form release show at Pianos.
