On October 30th, Cryptopsy will be releasing The Book of Suffering – Tome 1, the first in a series of EPs the  band have planned. We’ve already heard one song from the four-track EP. Today, with the release coming in less than two weeks. the band  the band have released , via Decibel, “The Knife, The Head And What Remains.” As is befitting a song with a title like that, it’s actually about a pretty brutal murder on a Greyhound bus a few years back in which a man was stabbed on a bus and ate part of him. Here’s what the band said about the track:

This song is based on a true story about a man who brutally beheaded and ingested pieces of his victim on a Greyhound bus. He claimed that God warned him that this man was sent to kill him and that he must protect the rest of the passengers.

Yeah, that’s pretty brutal, and one of many reasons we’re psyched to have cars. You can read about the whole case here. In the meantime, if you want to hear the song, roll over to Decibel, and if you like what you hear, you can preorder the EP here.
