Cinderella hasn’t released an album since 1994, when Still Climbing came out. The Philly hair metal band had pretty much hit their peak six years before that, with Long Cold Winter. After the band broke up in 1995, frontman Tom Keifer moved to Nashville and began work on a solo album. While Cinderella reunited a few years back to do summer tours with the likes of Poison and Scorpions, there hadn’t been any new music from anyone, yet Keifer continued work on the solo album. Finally, a track from the new album, now called The Way Life Goes, is out.

“The Flower Song” sounds more like a Rolling Stones song that anything the Stones have written in years. While it’s definitely a little more country than rock and roll, any Cinderella fan should like it. It’s more in the realm of “Coming Home” than “Gypsy Road,” and it’s definitely no Pat’s Chili Dog’s commercial. The album is described as embracing “the blues, rock and country roots that have always been present in his unique sound that has generated the sale of over 15 million records worldwide.” Interestingly enough, the album will be out on Merovee Records, which is a subsidiary of David Letterman’s company, Worldwide Pants. He’ll be doing a small tour in support of the album, which still doesn’t have a firm release date. Check out the song and the tour dates after the jump.
