As we kick off day five, or rather the day Load products go on sale at Metallica’s website, there have been two announcements within twelve hours from each other. Metallica has been playing leading up the new new album by playing a handful of shows around the world in anticipation of this Friday’s (yes, THIS FRIDAY!) release of Hardwired…To Self-Destruct. These performances date back from August 20th at Minnesota, followed by appearances in New York City, and the recent show in Columbia. Most recently, Metallica announced an exclusive performance at their very own hometown, in the Bay Area, Oakland, CA on December 17 at the Fox Theater.
Metallica’s Fifth Club members will be honored with a special pre-sale that kicks off this Thursday, November 17th at 10:00 am at the discounted price of $25 per ticket. The proceeds from these sales will be donated to the Alameda County Community Food Bank. Winners will receive a personal email code confirmation on November 16th. For a chance to win all you have to do is be a fifth member and click here to purchase up to two tickets per member.
However, non-fifth members will have a chance to purchase up to two tickets per person on Friday, November 18th at 10 am via Ticketmaster.com at the full price of $100 each. All profits will be donated to the same cause. Everyone who plans to attend are welcome to bring canned goods to the venue as there will be bins ready to collect. It is a generous cause, and Metallica continues to surprise us with such generosities and local store promotions.
Hold on! The fun doesn’t end there! There is much more Metallica. On Friday, Metallica will have an intimate performance at the House of Vans in London to celebrate the release of Hardwired… To Self-Destruct. If you are unable to attend, you will be able to view the live stream. More information can be found here. Phew! Hopefully, the North American tour will officially be announced, as many of us are guessing it will hit during the summer of 2017.
