01) Motion City Soundtrack, The Same Old Wasted Wonderful World (Epitaph)

This one was highly anticipated for me ever since I heard they were releasing it and it didn’t disappoint. Ten years in the making, Motion City Soundtrack returns with a much clearer vision of who they are and where they’re going. The singles were on high rotation for me, particularly the upbeat-yet-self-depricating “She Is Afraid” and “Particle Physics” and the more contemplative “Your Days Are Numbered.” And though it is top heavy (all the singles are in the first half of the album), it’s also an engaging listen from front to back.
