Katon W. De Pena of Hirax’s Top 10: Thrash bands from 1982-1989

hirax group shotFrom 1982 to 1989, Hirax were the epitome of underground thrash metal. Since reforming in 2000, though, singer Katon W. De Pena has been keeping Hirax metal as fuck, as further proven by the group’s new album Immortal Legacy (out March 4 via Steamhammer Records). With that in mind, we asked Katon himself to name the top ten thrash bands to come out of the same era as Hirax.

These are some of the best thrash metal bands from that time frame, however there are many many more….

 

10. Wehrmacht 

The perfect example of crossover thrash metal and one of the first bands to bring these two styles together. When I think of crossover thrash metal I think of Wehrmacht.
