If you have been watching Korn’s new viral series, you’ve probably been asking “What the hell is with the creepy crop circles?!” Well it may make more sense now with the announcement that Korn will be performing a concert from inside the “mysterious crop circle” from the videos. The hour and twenty minute performance will make its North American premiere on HDNet this Sunday, July 11 at 8 PM ET, and will begin streaming online on Monday, July 12 via MySpace in countries all over the world.

“The setting and the mood took us into a totally new direction musically. We took the opportunity to stretch out and experiment with the performance. I don’t think we’ll ever be the same,” said frontman Jonathan Davis. “I felt like we were on some new frontier musically for Korn. This is definitely going to add a new dimension to our live shows,” added guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer.

To be completely honest, I wasn’t 100% sure what to think at first. This is mainly because I didn’t realize that the crop circle was real and not just a computerized image. But apparently the band has been working closely with U.K. based circle makers (check out their work at CircleMakers.org) to create the circles and Korn logo that stretches 920 feet long and 350 feet wide. “We spent a lot of time fooling around in the wheat fields and corn fields (don’t you mean korn fields? – ed) surrounding Bako when we were kids, and it gets pretty spooky out there at night,” explains Davis as to what inspired the theme to the performance and viral videos.

You can take a look at the fourth and final webisode, which reveals the Korn crop circle logo and site of the concert. Since Korn always puts on a good live show, this performance will be cool to watch either way. Plus, it will be a good way to preview some of their new album Korn III: Remember Who You Are, since the band plans to perform seven songs off of it in addition to classics.

Update: An actual trailer for the event (featuring a clip of the band actually performing in the crop circle) has been posted online and can be seen after the jump.
