According to a recent Instagram post, Korn frontman Jonathan Davis may be delving into some previously untouched territory with his next musical endeavor. Davis posted a studio photo with the caption: “Working with Big and Rich on a country music project #Bakersfieldsound.”
Big and Rich took to their Instagram to share a photo with Davis as well, accompanying it with the caption: “In Bakersfield @ Buck Owens original studio. Now taken over by the Korn boys!”
There’s no news on what exactly this unlikely pairing is cooking up, but given their excitement about the project details will likely be revealed sooner than later. Ironically, in a recent interview, Korn’s James “Munky” Shaffer said that as far as the band is concerned, there’s only one genre the band hasn’t gone in. “We’ve gone in every direction buy country, and I don’t think that’s going to happen for Korn,” he told Loudwire.
