Last Saturday (5), North Carolina sludge band Sourvein played a sold-out set at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus. Sadly, that turned out to be the last show for bassist Mike Boone, who died in his sleep at a friend’s house following the show. Details are scarce, but the band posted the following information on their Facebook page:

Boone also played in S.O.L., who also mourned him via their Facebook page. Boone left behind a daughter, and a fund has been set up to help out his family with funeral expenses and a trust fund for his daughter Michaela’s education. To donate to that, go here.
