In more tragic news polluting this 2016, we’re sad to report the passing of Piotr Grudzinski, guitarist and founding member of the Polish progressive rock band Riverside, at the age of 40.
There aren’t many details regarding his passing aside from the short statement released by the band via social media declaring the following:
“In our deepest pain and disbelief, we would like to inform you that our dearest friend and brother Piotr Grudzinski has passed away this morning. We kindly ask you to respect the privacy of his family and friends.”
Grudzinski was found dead this past Sunday morning and was last seen the night before during a show by The Winery Dogs, as reported by the band’s drummer Mike Portnoy via Twitter.

Riverside was preparing to head out on a tour this coming April in support of their latest record Love, Fear, and The Time Machine in company of Lion Shepherd. Our sincerest condolences to those close to him.
