You’re the drummer in one of the  biggest bands in metal. You’ve also played on a Protest the Hero album. What’s next? If you’re Lamb of God’s Chris Adler, you open a bar and grill, Big Whisky Grill. Adler has partnered with Richmond  restaurant owner Will “Mac” McCormack to open the bar and restaurant, which should be serving customers in October. There’s already a Whisky Grill, located in the Richmond Fan District, but the new one will be even larger and will be located in the West End of the city. Adler explains how it came about:

“Anyone that knows me knows I’m not good at sitting still. The down time has been a great way for us to reconnect with family and friends, and in doing so, I’ve found myself in a position to keep pushing. I’ve partnered up with my good buddy Mac to open one of the largest and extensive whisky bars in the nation. We are building out now and the ideas in process are incredible.”

The Big Whisky Grill looks to have 700 bottles of whisky, 150 craft beers and a 200 bottle wine selection. It will also have a cigar room and two separate kitchens, one to handle special dietary needs for vegans and those with gluten allergies:

“One of the most important details for me outside of the incredible whisky collection is the idea of two kitchens, with one sterilized to serve specialized diet and allergy needs. My wife has suffered from severe food allergies for her entire life and has never been able to comfortably dine out – and she’s not alone. I’m driven to create a safe environment for any dietary concern, choice or not.”

Not bad. Between the Big Whisky Grill and the Gwar bar, it looks like before too long, music fans will be able to go on a Richmond metal bar crawl!
