In a little over 24 hours, Prong will be back in New York City performing their first area show in five years. Tommy Victor and crew will be performing at Metal Insider’s CMJ Showcase, which is a Rocks Off! Concert Cruise. If the idea of seeing Prong play their first show back in New York isn’t enough, just think how cool it is that they’ll be doing it on a boat circling the Statue of Liberty. Tickets are on sale now, and while there still might be some remaining tomorrow, they’ll cost $30 at the door, so you can save some cash by getting them online for just $25. And if you have a CMJ badge, those will also be admitted.
“Prong has not played NYC since the release of our latest album Carved Into Stone,” frontman Tommy Victor said to us. “Actually, we haven’t done a gig anywhere in the five boroughs in a very long time. So I’m happy to announce our return home as we board the Rocks Off Cruise on Oct 19th for the Metal Insider party at CMJ. The boat rolls out of New York Harbor and from what I hear it’ll be circling the Statue of Liberty while we’re on stage . What a great way to celebrate our return!”
Support will be provided by For Sleeping or Jumping, an up and coming band whose EP was produced by The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Benjamin Weinman, and Brazilian band Eminence. The boat will be leaving from Pier 40, by West Houston street and the West Side Highway. Come on out and support – this is going to be pretty awesome.
