4. Money – I know that this is a bit of a taboo subject, especially in the scene that we operate in, but having real funding is unbelievably huge for any band. I don’t mean this in a Snoop Dogg/ “Death Row is the label that pays me” sort of way. We’re not rolling in money. Bands need to know how to keep costs low and work a budget, but it’s nice that my credit cards are no longer maxed out after every tour, we didn’t have to record our album in a bedroom, and we can do things like shoot the kinds of music videos that we want and get exactly the sort of artwork that we want.
