Metallica are pretty entwined with their local sports teams. There have been Giants nights for the last two years with the San Francisco baseball team. They’re also fans of the Oakland Raiders, and when the band made it to the 2002 AFC Championship in 2003, Metallica gave fans a surprise six-song set in the parking lot of the Newark Coliseum, rolling up on a flatbed truck. And yes, that’s producer Bob Rock on the left.
