Whether you like it or not, commercials and advertisements are unavoidable. Such ads can be entertaining, descriptive, or at times complete nonsense. We have moved in the direction of AdBlock, fast forwarding, changing the channel, or muting our computers to do what we can to escape from them. However, there are quite a few out there that are worthwhile in different subjects and brands. Now if we lived in a perfect world, I would love to see metal in all commercials, the entertainment value alone would convince me to buy a particular product. Selecting a top five was a bit tricky, as I initially narrowed down to seven or eight, however, I managed to choose five hysterical top metal commercials over more recent years.

5) Norton Internet Security 2010

Originally this commercial was meant for Styx, however, in a last minute crunch Dokken was available for this shoot and all they had to do was stand there and look angry at a dead chicken. Despite the minimal activity, it worked quite well, and it is beyond hysterical. The commercial begins with a dramatic voice over where the threat of a computer virus is among you as it states, “Imagine that your hard drive is a chicken. Eighties heavy metal band Dokken is a computer virus that wants to blow up your chicken.”
