4. Brad Wilk

After the Bill Ward drama played itself out and the world got used to the fact that he wouldn’t be on the new Black Sabbath album, talk turned to who would be behind the drum throne in the studio. While it was expected that it would be Tommy Clufetos, who has played with Ozzy Osbourne since 2010 and is playing live for the band, it came as a surprise when it was revealed that Rage Against the Machine drummer Brad Wilk would be recording the album instead. Sessions seem to have gone well, and we should know later this week what at least one song will sound like. It’s hard not to imagine that producer Rick Rubin thought of the drummer, having produced their covers album Renegades in 2000. Yet it’s curious as to why he’s only playing on the album and not perform live (at least that’s what CSI is implying). Also, why didn’t Clufetos play?
