Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s pandemic column during the ongoing uncertainty behind COVID-19. We ask artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy during these unprecedented times. We caught up with Dirty Shirt mastermind Mihai Tivadar and vocalist Rini as they’ve been spending this time working.
What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?
Mihai: During the Quarantine, I slept little, as I had a lot of things to do: work from home, homeschooling, and activities with my son, gardening, following the sanitary situation and the news, and of course, a lot of work for my band Dirty Shirt (audio & video production).
Rini: I worked and I had plenty of time to do personal things that remained undone during the years.
Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?
Mihai: Not much in that time, because I worked a lot on Dirty Shirt projects.
Rini: If I have to work and think, I listen to classical music, especially Baroque. Otherwise, thrash is great, King Diamond also, Igorrr.
A lot of people have been spending this time cooking, including making their own bread. What food have you been prepping during this time?
Mihai: Usually things, but probably as the weather was sunny, I made barbecues in the garden more often.
Rini: Nothing, like usual. Instead, I made wine, palinka, apple juice and sausages, ham, and smoked neck.
In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?
Mihai: As explained, that period I was busier than usual, so the activity for the band was my entertainment (recording, editing, arrangements, composing, filming, live streaming…) and of course, walking or cycling nearby with my family.
Rini: I watch very little TV. When I do, I prefer documentary shows, ski, personal development books, and rarely do I play Warcraft Frozen Throne – the same old version
What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?
Mihai: I think that all we passed this period with different situations & solutions, but finally we are here and we learned many things during this pandemic.
Rini: To take care of them.
