File under “insanely obvious:” metal fans love old-school. Greece’s Sacral Rage, therefore, had their work cut out for them to stand out from the pack of leather-and-denim classic revivalists. Their first single, “Lost Chapter E.: Sutratma” from their upcoming record, Illusions in Infinite Void should show you exactly why. The riffs are rock-solid; technical and flashy without sacrificing memorability, with a degree of Judas Priest worship that, although present in all old-school bands, here is far less distracted by modern elements. That’s all well and good, but the vocals are what makes or breaks bands like this 99% of the time. Luckily, Sacral Rage skips out on the tired growls or black metally shrieks that can often come with modern thrash and classic metal bands, channeling Halford for some falsetto wailing instead. It’s that over the top element to the vocal delivery that puts them, well…over the top. It’s classic, it’s heavy, and to crib a phrase from the cult movie Heavy Metal Parking Lot, heavy metal just…rules, man!

You can stream “Lost Chapter E” Below. Illusions in Infinite Void will see a US release soon, but for now you can buy it internationally here.
