As soon as Machine Head was forced to cancel their tour with Children of Bodom, Epica and Battlecross, Bodom frontman Alexi Laiho weighed in on the cancellation via Facebook stating that it had nothing to do with him or his band. While he didn’t take any direct shots at Machine Head, it was pretty obvious from the post that the blame, if there was any, laid on Machine Head. Bodom’s fans read between the lines, and reacted, apparently. We knew we’d eventually hear Robb Flynn’s side of the story, and sure enough, he weighed in on the reaction from Laiho and Bodom fans in an entertaining “General’s Journal” post on Facebook.

While he starts off talking about social media in general, and eventually muses on the same “we have x amount of likes, but we only sell x amount of albums” argument that Sebastian Bach has made, he took a paragraph or two to devote to the how Bodom fans have reacted towards the tour cancellation:

For a band, it’s broken down a bit different. There are of course the diehard supporters. They’re first and foremost. There also exists a large group of “I’m-not-really-sure-if-they-are-fans-or-not,” and last and certainly least, there’s the people whose sole purpose is to troll your page. Like, I don’t know… let’s say the Children Of Bodom “Hate Crew” that has been out in full force in light of the US tour being re-scheduled. It’s typical shit talking, albeit a ton of it to the actual Machine Head fans saying ‘how much better Bodom are than Machine Head’ and how ‘Bodom should’ve been headlining over Machine Head’, and “fuck Machine Head”.

However, most people usually need the motivation to act like fools and Alexi’s little bitch-ass response certainly got the “Hate Crew” fired up.

Hate Crew?… pffffft!… more like “Alexi-ain’t-that-Great-Crew!”, more like, “bought-a-ticket-too-Late-Crew!”, more like, “It’s-not-my-fault-you’re-a-virgin-and-can’t-get-a-Date-Crew”!!

Well, there you have it. Robb Flynn took the bait. Now the ball is in Alexi’s court, and it’s safe to say that when Machine Head goes back out on the road again, Children of Bodom won’t be touring with them this time out. And in calling Laiho’s response “bitch-ass,” he’s taken in a step farther than Laiho did, but at least isn’t as passive-aggressive as the Bodom frontman was in his reaction. Congrats Bodom fans, you’ve successfully trolled Machine Head. It’ll be interesting to see if or how this escalates.
