Are you in a metal band who wants to record in the Boston or Brooklyn area? Do you feel your Bandcamp demos sound like 90’s black metal albums and need an upgrade? Are you broke to the point where you recorded your EP on your iPhone and mixed it yourself using Audacity? Would you like to work with two of the best producers in metal today? If you said yes to all of these, we’ve got great news for you!
Converse Rubber Tracks and our friends at Metalsucks have teamed up once again, to bring their third annual “Converse Rubber Tracks X Metalsucks” program, giving you the chance to have an entire day of recording for free at the Converse Rubber Tracks studio in Brooklyn, NY and for the first time in Boston, MA.
The program consists on giving the opportunity to five new upcoming bands to record in a single day their original music at a state-of-the-art studio and, on top of that, the production of whatever you record will be handled by metal producers, Will Putney and Kurt Ballou, who have produced for bands like Exhumed and Converge respectively. Both studios will have a roster of five bands each, meaning there will be ten lucky bands out there who will have new music recorded for them to do with it whatever they please.
You can submit your entry right now through August 2nd and once your selected by Putney, Ballou and the jefes at Metalsucks, Vince and Axl, you would have to clear your schedule between Monday, September 28 through Friday, October 4 to get to any of the studios you chose.
The sessions will be video recorded by the bros at Metal Injection so make sure you look pretty for the cameras if you happen to win. Good luck to all of you out there and spread the word to your friends’ bands who still thinks it’s ok to record with a handheld tape recorder.
