A few days ago, Def Leppard’s guitarist Vivian Campbell announced via Facebook that his cancer had returned and expressed his grief for possibly missing the band’s upcoming 48-date tour with Styx and Tesla due to his treatment schedule, but sugar has poured on him as his doctor was able to find an alternative way to treat him without interfering with his musical duties, as he explains on his recent Facebook post:
So, so happy to report that I’ve dodged the bullet of radiation. I was due to start a course that would have sidelined me for most of the first leg of the US tour, but my brilliant doctors have steered me towards an alternative course of treatment that will enable me to rejoin the tour this Saturday night in Birmingham Alabama. Furthermore, they’ve tailored future treatments to accommodate the tour schedule so I won’t have to miss any more shows.
I’m so happy and so indebted to the wonderful physicians who have worked so hard on my behalf to make this happen.
See you Saturday!
These are great news for Campbell, who was obviously aggravated for missing out the recently-started tour and I’m sure the news will give him a positive attitude towards his health situation. If you want to give Campbell some positive vibes, make sure to catch the band on the road at the following dates:
