nemhf2015igIf you’ve looked at a professionally-shot band photo in the past decade, the odds are that Jeremy Saffer might have shot it. The Massachusetts-based photographer has shot album covers, band portraits and magazine covers for countless bands. And for the last 11 years, he’s been covering the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival. With the Fest kicking off this Friday, we asked him to list some of his favorite shots from each of the 11 years he’s covered it. Looking at his pictures from 2004 on, one can basically get a one-decade glimpse of metal. Watching now-defunct bands in their glory, new acts on their way up, and some bands before their singer went to jail, all captured by one of the most dynamic concert photographers is a pretty awesome history lesson. As Saffer says in his email to us “crazy to see how bands have grown up, changed, disappeared or come back.” If you haven’t picked up your tickets for this weekend’s Fest, look below for links on how to do that. And enjoy Jeremy’s pics.
