Well this is insane. Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson has been seriously injured after being stabbed in the head by his younger brother. Iowa’s KCCI reports that police were dispatched to Thomson’s Clive, IA home, where apparently Thomson (full name Mickael Gordon Thomson) and his brother Andrew got in an argument inside his home that spilled outside, and both brothers were fighting each other with knives.

Officers said both men appeared to be intoxicated and had serious injuries consistent with a fight. Police said Mickael Thomson sustained a stab wound to the back of his head. None of the injuries were life-threatening. Police said both men were taken to a local hospital in separate ambulances.

This is obviously a breaking news story, and we’ll continue to update it as more news comes in. The band are scheduled to start a round of dates on April 25th. There’s no word yet on whether those dates will be affected.

UPDATE: Slipknot singer Corey Taylor has given a status report via Twitter.
