Saint Vitus frontman Scott “Wino” Weinrich has made a statement through Decibel Magazine about his recent arrest in Norway and subsequent deportation. He was caught with 11 grams of methamphetamine on November 9th when crossing the Norweigan border.
Said Weinrich in his statement,
“After several productive year of sobriety, the rigors of almost nonstop touring and life’s circumstances led me to develop a dependency that has become detrimental to my health and now, my freedom. As of now, I am currently off the road, and actively engaged in treatment.”
The band continued the Born Too Late 35th anniversary tour in Europe, finishing the last six shows without Wino. Saint Vitus had been on the road with Orange Goblin since October 9th, when the tour started in France.
