Rock stars don’t come from out of nowhere, but Pantera legend Dimebag Darrell Abbott appears to have had his act together from a super early age. Recently, a clip surfaced from 1984 with an 18 year-old Abbott playing a lengthy solo. At the time, Pantera were still very much a glam metal band, but Dime sounds amazing. You can tell he’s looking up to the likes of Randy Rhoads and Eddie Van Halen at the time, but some of this trademarks (Dean Guitar, lots of tremolo squeals) were already in place. We’re not sure where Guitar World unearthed this video, originally uploaded in 2008, from, but it’s a solid spend of seven minutes.
