Phil Anselmo has never been one to not speak his mind. Especially to Metal Hammer (ahem). So when the UK-based magazine recently asked his opinion on an album that should never have been made, they knew they’d get something juicy.
According to Blabbermouth, Anselmo singled out Metallica’s Load, the follow-up to their 16x Platinum Black Album.
“It’s a terrible record, man. I just don’t get it. If you’re gonna put out a record like that, just do a fucking side project or something, ya know?”
Wow. No Reload? It’s pretty interesting that Anselmo singled that album out, especially given that the main Metallica album most metal fans singled out as them selling out was the Black Album. Then again, Anselmo has been talking shit about Load since he was in Pantera, so at least he’s a man that sticks to his convictions.
