Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.

Believe it or not, it’s the first day of spring tomorrow according to my Game of Thrones-themed calendar. But much like Westeros, we’ve been going though a long winter and we’re still waiting for Mother Nature to get her shit together and start making it look pretty outside. Seriously, we’re tired of sitting on the computer all day and seeing grey outside. We want  to sit on a computer all day and see beautiful weather outside for a change. Until that, time, we bring you some close to spring time debuts and other goodies from the charts including a supergroup and a UK metalcore band. Enjoy.

Notable Debuts:

KXM, KXM (Rat Pak) #31, 9,825 sold

In case you haven’t heard of this supergroup, it’s composed of Ray Luzier of Korn, Doug Pinnick of King’s X, and George Lynch of Lynch Mob/Dokken. Want to guess how the came up with the band name?

Architects, Lost Forever // Lost Together (Epitaph) #112, 2,875 sold

This is the sixth album from the band sometimes known as Architects UK (since there are three other bands with a similar name).

 Notable Sales:

30 Seconds To Mars, Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams (Virgin) #45, 6,800 sold

Even with a 50% drop, this stays afloat (the big jump from last week had something to do with the singer winning an Oscar).

Five Finger Death Punch, The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell Vol. 2 (Prospect Park) #71, 4,400 sold

Not much has changed since last week.

Avenged Sevenfold, Hail To The King (Warner Bros.) #79, 3,975 sold

Nearly 440,000 sold.

Of Mice & Men, Restoring Force (Rise) #92, 3,425 sold

Over 85,000 sold in total.

Skillet, Rise (Atlantic), #100, 3,150 sold

This gets a 14% boost, bringing it over 245,000 sold.

Five Finger Death Punch, The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell Vol. 1 (Prospect Park) #131, 2,550 sold

Still not going anywhere.

Volbeat, Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies (Universal/Republic) #135, 2,550 sold

In another two weeks or so, this will reach the 200,000 mark.

A Day To Remember, Common Courtesy (Self-Released) #139, 2,450 sold

At week 15, this is over 185,000 sold.

Bring Me The Horizon, Sempiternal (Epitaph) #141, 2,400 sold

Bring over 170,000 sales.

Issues, Issues (Rise) #160, 2,125 sold

Remember how Korn also had an album called Issues?

Babymetal, Babymetal (VAP Japan) 1,125 sold

A drop of 53%. Guess people don’t want anymore choco.

Deafheaven, Sunbather (Deathwish) 660 sold

The band’s tour with Between The Buried And Me wraps up soon.

Cilver, In My Head (LP Media)  660 sold

We haven’t been keeping track of this album since its debut, but since 1) Bumblefoot is in the band, and 2) they’re currently touring with Lacuna Coil, we figured better late than never.

Gemini Syndrome, Lux (Warner Bros.) 620 sold

A 15% drop.

Comeback Kid, Die Knowing (Victory) 600 sold

A 73 second week drop. I guess making “comeback” jokes is going to get old after a while, right?

Nothing, Guilty of Everything (Relapse) 600 sold

A 74% drop in week two.

Intervals, A Voice Within (Self-Released) 600 sold

A 67% second week drop, but their tour with Protest The Hero might grab them some boosts.

Eyes Set To Kill, Masks (Century Media) 450 sold

Another tour boost of 42%.

Crown The Empire, The Fallout (Rise) 420 sold

A 12% drop for the album people keep buying.

Erra, Augment (Tragic Hero) 400 sold

The band’s tour with Veil of Maya boosts this album back up.

After The Burial, Wolves Within  (Sumerian) 400 sold

A small boost of 7%.

Thy Art Is Murder, Hate (Nuclear Blast) 380 sold

A 31%  boost thanks to the band’s tour with Emmure (who would have thought that would help?)

Cynic, Kindly Bent To Free Us (Season of Mist) 360 sold

Bending to a 27% drop.
