A month from now, as the year end lists continue to be compiled, it’s pretty much a given that Carcass’ Surgical Steel will be on most of them, if not atop them. The band’s first album in 17 years delivered on all counts, but it was supported by way too short of a tour, playing just five dates in North America. It was nearly a given that the band would be coming back for a more extensive run next year. And while dates have yet to be announced, guitarist Bill Steer let the cat out of the bag during an interview with Belgian Shoot Me Again webzine, stating that next year, the band will be touring with The Black Dahlia Murder. Go to about 8:00 to hear Steer talk about touring plans.

That’s an amazing tour right there. The Black Dahlia murder’s melodic death metal was directly inspired by Carcass, and the two bands are a great fit for each other. Not to mention the fact that the rest of America aside from New York, L.A. and Chicago deserves to see Carcass play this album. Dates haven’t been announced yet. In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a few panicked calls between management and booking agents to try to make good to confirm what Steer said.
