Those who were looking forward to seeing Saxon at the Vagos Open Air Festival August 10 in Portugal are out of luck. That’s because frontman Biff Byford has suffered injuries, forcing the British heavy metal band to pull out of their slot. The band released the following statement announcing the cancellation:
“Due to an injury of front man Biff Byford, Saxon won’t be able to perform at the Vagos Open Air in Fago, Portugal on the 10th of August 2013.At the present the severity of Biffs injuries are unsure so the doctors advised him strongly not to perform.Saxon is sad to disappoint the fans in Portugal and they hope they can come back soon. Keep the faith!”
The Vagos Festival is set to include Testament, Lacuna Coil, Iced Earth and more. We are wishing Byford a speedy recovery and hoping that he will still be able to heal without the remedies of performing (cue in “I’ve Got to Rock (To Stay Alive)”).
