Not only did Black Label Society impress us with their cover of Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine,” but they’ve caught the attention of Rolling Stone as well. The magazine posted the band’s latest track, an acoustic cover of a classic done Black Label style, on their website today.
The song, while not your typical Wylde style, shows the band’s stretch with broader instrumentation and Wylde’s passionate vocals. The album is not your standard Black Label work either, but it won’t leave fans disappointed. In fact, it may just draw some in more, since it would be hard to imagine a Bill Withers fan being offended by Wylde’s subdued, mostly-faithful take on the song.
The Withers cover will be included on the band’s September 24th album release, Unblackened.
