It’s kind of hard to imagine that Monster Magnet have been around for over two decades. The band’s mix of stoner rock and pyschedelia have made them one of Jersey’s best hard rock exports. Now they’ve announced their ninth full-length album, Last Patrol, coming out on October 15. You can kind of tell what you’re in for from the band’s second album from Napalm by the artwork. A faded-looking movie poster that looks like it could have come from a B-movie from the ’60s or ’70s, the album art is retro and futuristic at the same time.
The band’s also released “The Duke (of Supernature),” the first single from the album, via The Obelisk. It’s definitely more psychedelic than it is heavy, but definitely fits in alongside Magnet’s more trippy/ambient songs around the Dopes to Infinity-era. The band will be touring around the release of the album, with a month-long tour starting in November. Listen to the track and check out the tour dates below.
