Slipknot’s Shawn “Clown” Crahan is adding film directing to his resume. The Slipknot co-founder and percussionist is set to direct the film version of Officer Downe, a graphic novel by Joe Casey and artist Chris Burnham, according to Revolver. Crahan, who has directed many of Slipknot’s videos, is also a partner in Man of Action Studios alongside Casey.

Casey created the story of Officer Downe, illustrated by Burnham. The novel tells the story of a Los Angeles police officer who is made immortal as his department continuously brings him back from the dead after being killed numerous times in the line of duty. Check out a video below.

Slipknot’s presence in the film will not only include Crahan but band manager Corey Brennan as producer. In the meantime Slipknot continues to work on material for a new album, as lead-singer Corey Taylor has also launched his latest book A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Heaven.

Casey told Revolver that the film adaptation of the graphic novel  demands “more over-the-top set pieces to illustrate how incredibly chewed up and broken Officer Downe gets on the job, this makes someone with Crahan’s eye the perfect, twisted match for this material.”
