If you’re a musician or band, it’s pretty much a given that if people are at all interested in you, there’s going to be a cell phone pointed at you while you play. Queensryche frontman (or at least one of them) Geoff Tate seems to not have gotten that memo, as he mugged for a fan’s cell phone for about five seconds before grabbing it and throwing it over his shoulder into the crowd. Having not caught the band on this leg of the tour, we’re not sure if there was any announcement from the stage or at the venue that photography and videotaping was prohibited. If that was the case, maybe the fan deserved it, but that’s incredibly unlikely. Perhaps the best thing that can be said is at least he didn’t throw it with force, and the fan likely got his phone back. Regardless, that’s definitely not a good way to treat your fans, and if the singer has that much contempt for the people that come to see him, maybe he should reconsider touring until he gets over it.
