Last year’s Koloss put Meshuggah back on the map. Not that they’d really fallen off of it, but the band’s first album in four years was both a commercial and critical success. It doesn’t look like we’ll have to wait another three years for new music from the band, at least not if Scion is involved. The sock car manufacturer announced via their Facebook page yesterday that they’ve “got something special coming to you from Meshuggah next Tuesday.”
That something special will probably come in the form of a free EP. First of all, that sure looks like artwork for an album up there. Secondly, the label has released free EPs from Revocation, Enslaved, Arsis, Magrudergrind, and more. It makes sense that they release something heading into their tour with Animals as Leaders. Whether it will be new material, live stuff, or remixes remains to be seen, but we’re definitely not the only ones that are looking forward to next Tuesday.
