The Metal Alliance Tour’s past two lineups have been pretty spectacular, and this coming year’s lineup has upped the ante. Anthrax, Exodus, Municipal Waste and Holy Grail have been confirmed for the tour, with more bands to be announced at a later date. Metal Insider is proud to be a sponsor of the tour.

As part of their headlining set, Anthrax will be performing their classic album Among The Living in its entirety on the tour.  Scott Ian had the following to say about the trek, running from March to April:

“Holy crap am I so excited about this year’s Metal Alliance Tour! It’s been a great year and a half for us since Worship Music came out and to cap it off with a Grammy nomination. This is such a perfect lineup. To make this tour even more special, we will be playing our Among The Living record in its entirety. I can’t wait to play ‘Horror Of It All!’ Come on out and worship with us my friends. You do not want to miss this. USA on Hell one more time…”

The tour’s co-organizer Dan Rozenblum shares Ian’s excitement, saying the following about snagging Anthrax for the tour:

“Anthrax has always been one of my favorite bands, and to have them be part of our tour is beyond expression. This is surely going to be one for the history books!”

Since Worship Music’s release, Anthrax have done numerous tours with Testament and Death Angel. Now we’ll not only get to see them play with another thrash legends Exodus (who even Ian thinks would qualify for the “expanded Big 4”), but also with two of thrash metal’s rising stars Municipal Waste and Holy Grail. Those that have been around for a while might remember that the last time Anthrax and Exodus toured together was 1989’s Headbanger’s Ball tour.

Dates for the third annual Metal Alliance Tour will be announced shortly, while general admission tickets will be available on January 11. Keep an eye out on the tour’s soon-to-be-launched website for more details.
