The Black Dahlia Murder is only a few dates in on their tour with Dethklok, Machine Head and All That Remains. However, fans have already started to notice something different during the group’s set. Namely, that drummer Shannon Lucas isn’t behind the drum kit.

It didn’t take long for Metal Sucks to discover that The Black Dahlia Murder has been performing with Alan Cassidy, formerly of Abigail Williams. What still remains unclear, though, is whether Lucas’ absence is temporary or permanent. As of now, The Black Dahlia Murder has yet to even comment on touring with Cassidy, let alone as to why Lucas isn’t touring with them.

Granted, The Black Dahlia Murder is no stranger to lineup changes. In fact, bassist Max Lavelle had been touring with the group for three months before it was officially announced that he was permanently replacing Ryan “Bart” Williams. Still, many fans would agree that Lucas (who has been in the band for five years now) is one hell of a drummer and has been a perfect fit for The Black Dahlia Murder.

We may have to wait a little longer to find out what’s Lucas’ status in the band is. For now, check out fan filmed footage of The Black Dahlia Murder performing “Moonlight Equilibrium” and “Malenchanments Of The Necrosphere”  with Cassidy in Silver Spring, MD after the jump.
