It’s been a while, since Eyehategod have put out any music. To be exact, 12 years since their last album and eight years since their split with Cripple Bastards, as Metal Sucks’ Axl Rosenberg points out. It looks like the drought is over. A single called “New Orleans is the New Vietnam” is now available for preorder, or you can just stream it below. More groovy than sludgy, it hits all the notes you’d expect from the New Orleans legends. And check out that artwork, with the Superdome ominously rising like a mushroom cloud, you know that it’s a semi-political song, likely shaped by the aftermath of Hurrican Katrina. Given that all we’ve had is their relatively sparse catalog and occasional live shows, it’s great to hear new stuff from them. The song is available for preorder from A389 here.
