80’s hair metal fans rejoice! Def Leppard and Poison first toured together in 2009. And this Summer, the two hair rock titans are teaming up again to tour North America. Joining in on the fun this time around will be Lita Ford, who earlier this year signed a new deal with SPV/Steamhammer Records.
The tour kicks off on June 20 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Wait a second, doesn’t the movie adaptation of the off-Broadway play Rock of Ages open in theatres on June 15? Could it be just a coincidence that these three bands are touring together right as the movie, which features at least a song or two from Poison and Def Leppard, is being released? Of course not! In fact, Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen told Noisecreep back in January that they were hoping to tour with other bands whose music was also featured in the musical.
So now if you don’t want to see the likes of Tom Cruise and Catherine Zeta Jones singing “Pour Some Sugar On Me” or “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” this Summer, you can see the actual bands playing them live. Check out dates for the first leg after the jump.
