Two more men have been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of the disgraced former Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins. Earlier this month on October 11th, the disgraced singer was stabbed to death at the high security prison HMP Wakefield in northern England, while he was serving a 29-year sentences for child sex offences. While no names have been revealed at this time, the suspects, ages 23 and 39, were arrested at the prison on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. Both remain in custody and are being questioned before being bailed and returned to prison as the investigation continues. Last week, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) were formally charged with murder and are currently awaiting trial.
Detective Chief Inspector James Entwistle of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team said:
“Extensive enquiries remain ongoing in relation to the murder of Ian Watkins and these arrests form part of that. Ian Watkins’s family are being updated as the investigation progresses. However, we do not anticipate any immediate developments at this stage.”
