Swedish black metal outfit Craft have announced Markus as their new vocalist, officially stepping in after Mannevond’s short tenure. Mannevond joined in 2024 following longtime frontman Nox’s decision to step back.
Today (16th), the band officially confirmed Markus as their new frontman, stating:
“Craft officially welcomes Markus as our new lead vocalist! Markus is known as the voice of Ultra Silvam and Hinsides, and as such has proven beyond any doubt that he is one of the most impressive voices to come into the so called scene in recent years – not only on recordings, but on stage as well. The posessed, rabid energy will carry Craft forward as we once again embark into a new era. Prepare for the Ultimate Death!”
On Friday (12th), the band hinted at changes ahead revealing a new era begins:
“The new era begins with the Fuck The Universe 20th anniversary shows here in Sweden.
Gothenburg 27/9 – @monument031
Stockholm 25/10 – @summoning_of_darkness_festival
One more stand alone show (not a FTU-anniversary set) will be done in Sweden in December.

It was on September 9th when Craft revealed Mannevond’s departure, stating:
“The silence is over. A new era has already begun, and so we officially end the short yet impressive tenure of Mannevond as a member of Craft.
“Joining CRAFT was an offer I couldn’t refuse. Being a massive influence, since I first heard the band in the early 2000s, with some of the most quintessential albums in the whole of Black Metal – if you ask me. However, due to unforeseen changes in personal circumstances, I was no longer able to dedicate the capacity needed to fully serve CRAFT, and I had to make the decision of stepping down, as I have also done with my involvement in other bands – leaving only Koldbrann and Jordsjuk as my continuing musical undertakings. An untimely end, indeed, but it was an honor. Forward, and demonspeed.” -Mannevond

Craft’s latest album was 2018’s White Noise and Black Metal. Only time will tell what their next chapter has to offer.
