Death metal project Imperishable, featuring guitarist/vocalist Brian Kingsland (Nile, Enthean), bassist Alex Rush (Olkoth, Enthean), and drum legend Derek Roddy (Hate Eternal, Malevolent Creation) have recently released their debut album, Revelation In Purity, via Everlasting Spew Records. To take a break from celebrating their August 2025 release, we caught up with Kingsland to briefly discuss his two dogs.
Tell us more about your pet(s) and their names?
We have 2 dogs. They’re whippets. Devo is a male, and Penny Lane is a female. Devo has spleen cancer and has been treated with chemotherapy. So far, he’s recovering very well. We also have chickens, but I’ll spare you their names

Have you ever taken your pet on tour?
No
Who looks after your pet while on the road?
My wife and kids.
What’s your pet’s favorite song or album?
The dogs really love Bark at the Moon by Ozzy Osbourne .
How did you introduce your pet to metal?
They’ve been force-fed Slayer and Pantera.
