Tim Cronin, founding member of Monster Magnet, has died at age 63 following a battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). His passing was confirmed by bandmate Bob Pantella, stating:

“Words cannot express how great this guy was… You had to know him. Rest in peace Tim.”

Cronin was diagnosed with the progressive neurodegenerative disease earlier this year. A GoFundMe campaign launched for his care raised over $100,000 in support.

As a key part of Monster Magnet’s early lineup, Cronin contributed on vocals, bass, and drums following the band’s formation in 1989. Beyond the stage, he was a beloved figure in New Jersey’s music scene, running Jack’s Music Shoppe in Red Bank for more than 30 years.

Our thoughts are with Cronin’s family and friends during this difficult time.
