Marilyn Manson has dismissed his lawsuit against actress Evan Rachel Wood, agreeing to pay her nearly $327,000 in attorney fees. The lawsuit, originally filed in 2022, accused Wood of fabricating allegations of sexual and physical abuse and encouraging others to do the same. A Los Angeles County judge had dismissed significant portions of the suit while Manson had been appealing the decision before reaching a settlement.
Manson’s attorney Howard King comments:
“After four years of fighting a battle where he was able to tell the truth, Brian is pleased to dismiss his still-pending claims and appeal in order to close the door on this chapter of his life.”
Wood’s attorney, Michael J. Kump, criticized the lawsuit, calling it a “publicity stunt” meant to undermine Wood’s credibility and intimidate her. Despite rejecting requests for confidentiality, Wood agreed to the settlement, marking an end to the legal dispute.
Manson, who has consistently denied all allegations against him since 2021, has shifted his focus back to his music career. His latest album, One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1, released on November 22 via Nuclear Blast, marks a return to form. The record, arguably described as his strongest work since 2000’s Holy Wood, highlights a creative resurgence despite ongoing controversy.
